Tourist Attractions
Past Diamond Headim north of Waikiki, Hanauma Bay, the first way to some viewpoints with regard to the neighbouring islands of Molokai and Lanai. Park has also to the Halona Blow Hole to admire from the highway, also signs.
Then follows a beautiful beach, Sandy Beach, one of the best body surfing spots with strong Stomung.Swimmers stay here better on land.
Before the highway back into the interior, you pass the Makapuu Lighthouse and the same beach, both on my pictures. The good 12-meter-high lighthouse sits spectacular 140 meters above the sea on a rocky cliff. Before Makapuu Beach is a small island, Manana Iceland or rabbit Island. The animals live on the island since they released by a farmer.
The relatively small compared to Sea Life Park offers exhibitions of Hawaiian fishing, reef animals and turtles and a dolphin show with Hula and dinner. When you walk through the night with torches lit area, many nocturnal species beobachen.
Two other major tourist attractions are located in the east of the island. Since I have not visited, I can not do much to say for the sake of completeness but they should be mentioned here. As would be the first Valley of the temple. Here is the replica of a Japanese temple in the middle of a peaceful Gartental.
Mormons have the Polynesian Cultural Center established to around 2 million visitors from all over the world attracts. They built a kind of theme park with scenes from various South Pacific areas and can be students from this area in national costume, the culture of their people. The whole thing is rather a kind of Disney World, and since I already was in the South Pacific, I am expensive for admission saved.
